FLAPS Development: Non-Latin URL Characters

ICANN to allow non-Latin characters in domain names.

This move will allow domain names AKA “websitename.com” for example to be available in non-Latin characters. Countries such as China and Russia will be able to register domain names in there nature language.

Will this affect Coola Studios’s FLAPS (Flash Licensing And Protection System)?
In theory no. As long as Flash allows users to enter their native characters into a text field there shouldn’t be any problems.

At the moment I am sure that Flash allows non-Latin characters to be imported into Flash. I assume this will include URL strings, although currently URLs do not contain non-Latin characters so I have no way to test this.

We at Coola Studios currently have no plains to add international support for FLAPS.
